Fighting COVID-19’s Disproportionate Impact on Black Communities With More Precise Data

Autores/Participantes : Nick Stewart, Peter Smittenaar, Sema K. Sgaier, Yael Caplan

The “COVID-19 Community Vulnerability Index” (CCVI) weaved together an unusual array of data into a simple measure of a community’s vulnerability to COVID-19. These data help to identify precise solutions, from neighborhood-level investments in cities to targeted testing strategies in rural areas, to help Black Americans as they disproportionately bear the burden of this crisis. If the inequities exacerbating this crisis for many Americans are deep and multifaceted, the responses must be as well.
