This roadmap was developed by the American Evaluation Association’s Evaluation Policy Task Force to improve oversight and accountability of Federal programs by systematically embracing program evaluation as an essential function of government. The text describes how evaluation can be used to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of Federal programs, assess which programs are working and which are not, and provide critical information needed for making difficult decisions about them.
